This week, we talked a little bit about Punxsutawney Phil (Groundhog) and Groundhog Day. We made predictions of whether Mr. Groundhog will see his shadow or not, and to our surprise, he did! Which means we may have 6 more weeks of Winter coming up (Brrr!).
We also participated in celebrating World Reading Day on Thursday. It was a lot of fun getting to read with different Primary buddies in the gym for the morning.
Some reminders coming up...
* Earlier this week, I sent home some math flashcards in a small Ziplock bag. These flashcards are for students to keep at home. Please try to help your son/daughter practice and memorize these facts. In the next while, I will be sending home math games to play.
* A reminder that I will be e-mailing Term 2 Conference times on February 6 at 5 pm. Sign-up will be similar to Term 1 (first come first served). Again, if you could send me your top 3 choices, that would be great.
* Please note that there is no school on February 9-13.
* Valentines Day is fast approaching. Please note that if your child is planning on handing out Valentines that they include everyone in the class. Thanks for your support in this. Below is a list of students in our class:
