October 27, 2017

It was a busy week for Division 17 as we were scientists who made Pumpkin Investigations, had a surprise visit from Recycling Dan who helped us with a S.T.E.M. activity, and finally painted our mini pumpkins with our big buddies!

* Thanks and congratulations to the following students from Division 17, who participated in the Primary Cross Country Event on Tuesday afternoon! :)

Lila, Sasha, Viviana, Ki, Aiden, and Onyx

* Sending another reminder to everyone to please check your Parent Portal to complete the online permission form for our upcoming field trip to Burnaby Village Museum on Tuesday, November 28. Additionally, those owing money, please be sure to send these in as soon as possible. If there are any volunteers who would like to accompany us, please let me know via e-mail or indicate it on the permission form. Your help is greatly appreciated! :)

* If you are still interested in ordering Art Cards, they are due on Friday, November 3.

* Halloween is creeping up on us! Our class will be participating in the Primary Costume Parade on the morning of Tuesday, October 31st. Students are encouraged and welcome to dress up in their Halloween Costumes that day. Please note, that if your costume includes a weapon of any kind (sword, toy gun, etc) please keep these at home. Also, please ensure that your child's costume is easy to take on and off as they are going out for recess and lunch- you wouldn't want their costume ruined for Halloween night. Lastly, if you would like to send in a treat for the class to share, you are more than welcome to, but are not required. :)

* Our class is helping in gathering non-perishable food items for Scare the Hunger. Word is, the class with the most items wins an ICE CREAM PARTY! If you can, please try to bring in a couple of items to donate.

* The day after Trick-or-Treating can be a rough one! Our class will be having a PJ and Stuffy Day on November 1st. Please come to school in your comfiest pjs, and feel free to bring a stuffy! :)

* A note about Hot Lunch Orders was sent home on today. The PAC has started a new online ordering program called "Munch a Lunch". Details and information about how to sign-up is on the notice handed out. Future hot lunches/ PAC events will now be detailed on the website, and will not be sent home with paper copies. Please be sure to sign-up so that you do not get left out! :)

** Last but not least, a few of you have asked about Conference sign-ups. I will be starting sign-ups on November 6th. Please keep a look-out for an email that I will be sending with further information. :)
