Busy week this week! I missed everyone while I was away last week, but I was very happy to come back to hear that everyone helped the TOC feel welcomed and was very helpful! Good work Division 17!
Highlights...
* On Monday, Sherry from Creative Kaos was a special guest in our class. She taught us how to paint Wild Poppies with watercolors. Thank you to all who have paid. I am still missing payment from a few more students. Please make sure you send this in by the end of the next week.
* On Thursday, we were a part of a school-wide prank/ surprise for Mr. Wheatley's 50th Birthday! It was so much fun helping to decorate and get ready to give him the best birthday surprise!
* Also on Thursday, we kicked off our new Home Reading Program called Mystery Bag Reading. Your child should have brought home a numbered ziploc bag with 5 mystery books. These books are different from the ones we have been sending home, as they are high-interest books (books that you would be able to find in a library (i.e.: Elephant and Piggie, Pigeon, National Geographic, etc.).
Please take time to read and enjoy these for the next week. We are so lucky to be a part of such a wonderful pilot project to encourage a love of literacy at home. Please make sure your child brings back their bag next Thursday to take home a new bag. If your child did not bring home a bag, it means that they have not yet returned their old Home Reading books/ bag. Please return these so that your child can take part in the program.
Lastly to note, please take care of these books so that other students can enjoy them from years to come. Obviously, it is understood that accidents sometimes happen with spills and such, but a replacement fee will be charged for any damaged/ missing books. Thank you for your support!
