* A big thank you to Aiden and his family who donated some great books to add to our classroom library! I'm sure the books will be well-read for years to come!
* Shya celebrated her birthday on November 15th- Happy Birthday!
* Ava very kindly baked some delicious Banana Oatmeal Muffins for us to enjoy this week- thank you Ava for such a yummy treat! :)
* We received some sad news this week- our Vice Principal Mrs. Beveridge is leaving Golden Ears Elementary and moving to Glenwood Elementary after the Christmas break. We will definitely miss her lots! Please be sure to thank her and wish her well before she leaves. :(
* A few parents have inquired about Home Reading. The book cart for Home Reading is shared throughout the school amongst the primary classrooms. Unfortunately, as of lately, the book cart has not been making its way to our class, so you will have noticed that your child has not been bringing their bag home regularly. To alleviate this issue, I have asked students to choose 2-3 books on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (days which we have access the book cart). Please continue to practice reading at home. Students are also encouraged to read books that are not part of their Home Reading, and there's definitely nothing wrong with reading a book twice! :)
* On Friday, November 24th, we will be taking a look at the Grade 7 Young Entrepreneur Show. The Grade 7's at Golden Ears have been working hard in making some creations, and they will be made available for students to purchase. Their creations are currently displayed in the front foyer display case by the office. If you would like your child to have the opportunity to purchase some of these creations, please send $1 - $5 with them on Friday (Please do not send bills larger than $5, as it is difficult to make change). The Grade 7's appreciate your support!
* November Scholastic book orders are due Friday, November 24th. If you would like to order, please send in orders by this date.
* It seems like Christmas is just around the corner! Please try to send in costume pieces for the Christmas Musical as soon as possible. The costumes are due December 8th. If you are unsure what to send in, please refer to the Parent Portal or the previous blog post for the Christmas Musical. Thanks!
